Environmental Trends

A key goal of NWT CIMP under the Mackenzie Valley Resource Management Act (MVRMA) is to report on environmental trends and make environmental trend data available to decision makers. Since 2011, NWT decision makers have guided NWT CIMP to focus its monitoring and research on three priority valued components: caribou, water, and fish, given their importance to the people of the NWT.

NWT CIMP has gathered environmental trend data for caribou, water, and fish from all sources, including NWT CIMP-funded monitoring and research. Information is current to 2015 and is updated annually.

The following environmental trend reports on flow, water quality, and suspended sediments have recently been produced the GNWT Water Resources Division and its partners.
