What is the Taiga Lab?

Taiga Environmental Laboratory is a full-service analytical laboratory that performs a wide range of organic and inorganic chemical analyses on water--freshwater, ground water, drinking water, industrial effluents, sewage--and soil.

In addition to standard services, a variety of special services are offered, including:

The Taiga Environmental Laboratory opened in 1975. After almost 40 years of continual growth, the laboratory has expanded its scope of services to answer the needs of both the public and private sectors.

Accreditation

Taiga is accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) to ISO/IEC 17025 standards and accreditation is limited to the tests named on the scope of testing. View Taiga's scope of accreditation on the CALA website.

The Taiga team of experienced analysts provides the highest-quality data, which is reflected in their performance in national inter-laboratory studies. The laboratory also participates regularly in federal/provincial-level proficiency testing (PT) programs with the National Water Research Institute (NWRI). These studies cover lake and river water, precipitation and sediments for inorganic, organic and microbiological constituents and define the parameter-specific performance of participating laboratories.
