Regional NWT CIMP project summaries

NWT CIMP projects throughout the Northwest Territories (NWT) address key regional cumulative impact questions of regulators, governments and communities.

North and South Slave Regions

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $415,000 to support 12 projects in the North and South Slave regions. Approximately 43% ($176,000) of the funding was distributed directly to regional,                                                             community and co-management organizations. This year (2019-2020), 14 projects will be supported in the regions.

Sahtu Region

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $273,000 to support 8 projects in the Sahtú Region. Approximately 51% ($138,000) of the funding was distributed directly to regional, community and co-management                                              organizations. This year (2019-2020), four projects will be supported in the region.

Inuvialuit Settlement Area

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $179,000 to support 3 projects that involved work in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. This year (2019-2020), NWT CIMP is supporting three projects in the region.

Gwich'in Region

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $215,000 to support 7 projects that involved work in the Gwich’in Settlement Area. This year (2019-2020), three projects will be supported in the region.

Wekèezhìi Settlement Area

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $322,000 to support 4 projects that involved work in the Wek’èezhìı region. This year (2019-2020), five projects are highlighted in the region.

Dehcho Region

In 2018-2019, NWT CIMP provided $219,000 to support 4 projects that involved work in the Dehcho region. Approximately 51% ($112,000) of this funding was provided to regional and community organizations. This year (2019-2020), eight projects are highlighted in the region
