The Hamlet of Fort McPherson held a Wildfire Community Preparedness Day on July 10.

As part of this event, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources held a FireSmart information session. Approximately 25 residents attended to learn about wildland fires in the Northwest Territories, and how to FireSmart their properties. They were shown videos, given take home information, and had an opportunity to ask questions.
