New reports available
The NWT CIMP Annual Report summarizes activities and highlights of the program for 2013/14. It provides statistics on funding amounts and partnerships, and highlights key monitoring projects in the Northwest Territories.
This report summarizes long term monitoring of water quality and quantity in the Peel River watershed. It is a significant achievement as it identifies long term temporal trends in water chemistry and hydrology. Identifying long term temporal trends allows decision makers to set limits and plan for the future.
New and improved NWT Discovery Portal now live!
The NWT Cumulative Impact Monitoring Program (NWT CIMP) and the GNWT Centre for Geomatics have recently launched an updated and improved version of the NWT Discovery Portal.
Recent upgrades include better searching capabilities, improved map functions and the ability to upload multiple documents on one metadata record. The Portal now also has hundreds of records from the Polar Data Catalogue which houses results from International Polar Year.
The NWT Discovery Portal is the most comprehensive online source for environmental monitoring knowledge in the Northwest Territories. You can use the Portal to search for data, metadata and reports. You can also share your findings by uploading research and monitoring information.

The NWT Cumulative Impact Monitoring Program (NWT CIMP) aims to watch and understand the land and use it respectfully forever in an effort to ensure environmental information is collected and available to Northerners, decision-makers and industry.
The program coordinates, supports and conducts monitoring-related initiatives in the NWT by incorporating both scientific and traditional knowledge while taking into consideration both human and biophysical environments.
