Have your say! Waste Resource Management Strategy Discussion Paper

What is this engagement about?

Let’s talk trash! Tell us what we can do to manage waste better in the Northwest Territories.

Waste, and how we manage it, can impact the quality of our land, air and water, as well as the health of wildlife, plants, ecosystems and people living in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

The Government of the Northwest Territories will be developing a Waste Resource Management Strategy (Strategy) to serve as a 10-year road map for improving waste resource management throughout the NWT.

How will we get there?

Environment and Natural Resources has developed a Discussion Paper to provide some background information on the state of waste resource management in the NWT, and to give you a starting point to provide your input.

The Strategy and its implementation plan are expected to be completed by spring 2019.

How can my contribution make a difference?

Environment and Natural Resources wants your input to shape its 10-year road map for improving waste resource management in the NWT.

Your feedback on the Discussion Paper will inform the development of a draft Strategy and implementation plan.

You will have additional opportunities to have your say before the draft Strategy and implementation plan become final.
