Regional NWT CIMP project summaries

NWT CIMP projects throughout the Northwest Territories (NWT) address key regional cumulative impact questions of regulators, governments and communities.

North and South Slave Regions

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $337,000 to support 13 projects in the North and South Slave regions, 10 of which overlapped with other regions. Approximately 15% ($70,000) of this funding was provided directly to regional and community organizations. 

Sahtu Region

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $438,000 to support 13 projects in the Sahtú region, nine of which overlapped with other regions. Approximately 30% ($139,600) of the funding was distributed directly to regional, community and co-management organizations.

Inuvialuit Settlement Area

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $119,000 to support eight projects in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region, seven of which overlapped with other regions. Approximately 20% ($20,500) of this funding was provided directly to regional and community organizations.

Gwich'in Region

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $94,000 to support eight projects in the Gwich’in Settlement Area that overlapped with other regions. This year, two projects will be supported directly in the region in addition to four multi-region projects.

Wekèezhìi Settlement Area

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $395,000 to support 14 projects in the Wek’èezhìı region, 10 of which overlapped with other regions. Approximately 40% ($146,000) of this funding was provided directly to regional and community organizations.

Dehcho Region

In 2017, NWT CIMP provided $465,000 to support 16 projects in the Dehcho region. Approximately 21% ($98,000) of this funding was provided to regional and community organizations.
