Renewable energy and energy efficiency
Providing energy to meet the needs of households, communities, and industry in the Northwest Territories (NWT) is difficult, but critical.
In the NWT, it is important to take a strategic approach to developing renewable energy sources. The 2030 Energy Strategy sets out the Government of the Northwest Territories' long-term approach to supporting secure, affordable and sustainable energy supply and use in the NWT. Energy efficiency allows the successes of renewable energy generation in the NWT to make a greater contribution to greenhouse gas mitigation efforts.
