Spring Burning

The forest fire season can run from as early as April to as late as October. Under the NWT Forest Protection Act, a Permit to Burn is required for the ignition of a fire in forest areas with the exception of fires built for warming and heating food, from May 1 to September 30.

Contact your Regional Office to acquire a Permit to Burn.
