Environment and Natural Resources

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources promotes and supports the sustainable use and development of natural resources to protect, conserve and enhance the Northwest Territories environment for the social and economic benefit of all residents.

This responsibility is shared with Aboriginal, federal, territorial, and municipal governments, boards and agencies and every resident of the Northwest Territories.

Proposed New Wildlife Act

Environment and Natural Resources invites everyone to attend the public meeting on the proposed Wildlife Act in their community .

E-waste Survey

The Government of the Northwest Territories would like to learn more about the types and numbers of electronic equipment used in NWT homes. The information you provide may help determine the best type of e-waste reuse/refurbish/recycling program for our territory. All surveys will be entered into a draw to win an 8G iPod Touch. There are three iPods available to be won.

Show you care about reducing waste. Click here to complete a survey today!
