The Department of Environment and Natural Resources provides a policy, planning and regulatory framework for the stewardship, protection and sustainable management of forest resources on 33-million hectares of land in the Northwest Territories. Our goal is to ensure sustainability of forest use for future generations through careful management and fire prevention and protection.
Programs and services provided include wildland fire management, prevention and protection, forest education, forest health and silviculture.
