Firearm Safety

Please remember firearms can be dangerous tools. Use the following tips to help you safety enjoy your hunting trip:

  • Treat every firearm as if it were loaded.
  • Always control the muzzle of your firearm.
  • Be sure of your target and beyond.
  • Never shoot at a flat hard surface, including water.
  • Never point a firearm at anything you don’t want to shoot.
  • Never climb, run or jump with a load firearm.
  • Lock up firearms and ammunition separately.
  • Be sure the barrel is clear of obstructions.
  • Unload firearms when not in use.
  • Avoid alcohol before and during a hunt.
