The Department of Environment and Natural Resources works with other government departments and agencies, industry and citizens to promote the use of environmentally sustainable energy sources and reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, energy and other utilities.

Working in partnership with the Arctic Energy Alliance, our programs encourage the use of energy efficient technologies and alternative energy sources, facilitate development of community energy plans, and promote energy awareness.
