Home Appliances

Your fridge and washing machine are two of the biggest energy users in your home. If you want to lower your electricity bill you can get a $400 rebate if you live in a community powered by diesel or natural gas or $100 if you live in a community served by hydropower. All you need to do is to purchase a new ENERGY STAR® fridge (larger than 6.4 cubic feet) or washing machine. These two items use three to four times less energy than older inefficient models. Washing machines also use up to 50% less water and leave your clothes dryer at the end of the spin cycle for further energy savings. Ask your retailer to help you choose an ENERGY STAR® appliance or visit the Arctic Energy Alliance to find out more.
