The WILD Times

Teaching about Birds

Spring is almost here! Ravens are nesting and other birds are on their way North. Their
arrival will signal a renewal of life and a welcome end to winter. The Northwest Territories hosts tremendous numbers of birds, over 300 species, in the brief explosion of spring and summer.

In this issue of The Wild Times you will find intriguing information on our fine feathered
friends; avian activities; resources and much, much, more.

Thanks to all our contributors for sharing their knowledge and ideas: Vicky Johnson & Jim Hines (Canadian Wildlife Service); Donna Waters, Joe Mego & Robert Bromley (Department of Renewable Resources); Liz Rose (Department of Education, Culture and Employment); Terry Pamplin (Prince of Wales Heritage Museum); and Joachim Obst.
